I’ll be joining you through the regions around our Colours of Queensland adventure!

We decided to do things a little differently, so since you couldn’t come to us, we have come to you!

By now you should have received your very own Colours of Queensland gift box, packed with a special passport. Don’t lose this - we’ll need it for our adventure!

Let’s start our journey through the regions of sunny Queensland!

Watch the video below and meet Gavin our strawberry farmer, who will take you through the process of growing on his farm, from planting to packing.

What will you need?

To get the ball rolling, we will need to germinate your strawberry seeds before they are planted out in your garden, planter box or planter pot. See below the list of what you will need to start your strawberry garden.

  • Strawberry seeds
  • Egg carton or planting container
  • Fresh soil
  • Water

STEP 1

Using your egg carton or container, fill each section with potting mix, leaving a finger width (1 cm) gap from the top.

STEP 2

Pre-soak your containers with lots of water and let the water soak for 20 minutes.

STEP 3

When the soil is damp, make a 1cm hole in the centre of each container.

STEP 4

In each hole, place 1 strawberry seed.

STEP 5

Pinch the soil over the strawberry seed hole to seal them up.

STEP 6

These strawberries will start to germinate with regular watering and good 8-12 hours of sun about 2-3 weeks. We recommend heavy watering 2x a week.
